LARIAM®....

...also known as Mefloquine is the type of anti malaria pills that I need to take for my upcoming trip to India. So I was reading through the patient information sheet and it is like those commercials you see on tv for drugs that say side effects may include and they go on and on. Here are some of the possible side effects
-Severe anxiety
-Feelings that people are against them
-Hallucinations(ex. seeing or hearing things that aren't there)
-Depression
-Unusual Behavior
-Feeling Disoriented
-"Some patients taking 'Lariam' think about killing themselves, and there have been rare reports of suicides. It is not known whether 'Lariam' was responsible for these suicides."

Yeah kind of crazy I would hope that if they were responsible for the suicides then they would stop selling the pills.

People have also said that I will most likely experience crazy dreams keep checking the blog because if I have a crazy one I will share it with you. Maybe.

Anyways I should go hopefully any side effects I get will be minimal.

IN ONE WEEK I AM GOING TO.................................................

India.... I know it is crazy to think that in a week I will be on a plane on my way to India. I am excited. I know it is going to be an amazing time. Please pray for me and the team.

Missing people already

So this will be short my parents have friends over so I should go and be social. I just wanted everyone to know I am safe at home. I hope you are all doing well. I know it has only been just over 48hrs since I left school but I already miss my friends. It's hard when you see them all the time to then be at home and not be able to see them. Miss you guys and love you I will post more later.

My life

So I know my posting has been lacking lately and I am sorry for that.

So my room is clean and I really love having it that clean and am enjoying being in it a lot more often. Thanks to my friends Sarah W and Natashia who got it started for me. I then spent two hours finishing cleaning it. I even cleaned my closet. (Mum you would be proud {no pun intended} )

The trip plans are all coming together. I am excited to go. More info about Prayer Requests can be found on my prayer blog.

School is great and I am so thankful for the friends that I have made. This morning was my friend Erin's birthday so I made her breakfast in bed. I made her a Belgium waffle.(Tasha I have expanded and can make good egg sandwiches and now also waffles.)

Class this week is Missions prep which is nice to tie up the details and also give us a light homework week.

I am going to Creston hopefully on the 16th for Christmas and we might go to Summerland to my aunt's for the 23rd to the 26th. I am really hoping this happens otherwise it will be just me and my parents in Creston which will be a little odd for me.

I gotta go my neck is really sore and I need to do some reading before basketball and I also have night class tonight.

So my room is almost cleaned. I was gone today babysitting and while I was gone a girl or somegirls basically cleaned my room. So right now I am in the process of putting away things that they didn't know where they went. Thank you to the girls or girl who cleaned my room.

The Party

Hey Everyone so I thought I would tell you about what I did last night. Yesterday was the Guys party for the Girls. Every year at CLBI the guys throw a party for the girls and vice versa. The day started with Breakfast in the Co-Ed at 11:00am. We had some yummy pancakes and sat there while the boys asked what we wanted and made our pancakes accordingly. After that we had some free time until we had to be in the Co-Ed again at One. When we got there we were given a clue and sent out on a scavenger hunt trying to find out who kidnapped the don. It was like a big game of clue. We had to go to five different places and it took two hours to complete. When we were finally finished we went back to the school and had three hours to get ready. We got ready and went to the Co-Ed. We were then escorted in groups of four to the caf. There we were announced and went in the Caf one by one. The boys had done an AMAZING job decorating. Sorry to the boys I went to CLBI with my first year but these boys did a way better job decorating it didn't even look like the cafeteria. They had paper up around part of it that was sponge painted to look like bricks. Then the rest was covered in black. They had also lit one part up to look like a city sky line. After everyone was seated we were served an awesome dinner. Then had a time of worship. We ended the night with a dance. The music was swing/jazzy type music. It was so much fun and it was sad when the evening came to an end. It seem like it flew by. Thanks to the boys of CLBI for throwing a great party and making the girls feel special.

My Nose

So I might of broke my nose the doctor doesn't really know. I was playing basketball on friday and I screened Greg and he turned and smacked his head into me nose. There was a loud crunching/cracking noise. Surprisingly I did not bleed but I did cry for about three minutes and Shannon took me to the hospital. The Doctor said he didn't want to do anything he wanted to wait for the swelling to go down before he does anything. Also Shannon had to wake me up in the middle of the night in case I had a head injury. So I am planning on e-mailing my mum some pics so she can make a decision about my nose. Anyways I should go. Please Pray

So in about two hours time I will leave on a 24 hour solo trip. As part of the class this week was an optional 24 trip. We were able to choose whether we wanted to be inside or outside. We also then got to decide whether or not we wanted to water fast, daniel fast(fruits and veggies only) or meals. So I choose outside with a daniel fast. I know how I am and I would find a church inside way to distracting. So if you could pray for my time that would be great. I know this is going to be a very very stretching experience for me. Pray that God would direct me and guide me and that he would speak to me during this time.

Day 2 at CLBI

So it's only day two and God is already working and I know that shouldn't surprise me. I know that God is changing the way I view things and what he has planned for my life. He is definitely opening my eyes and letting me know that I can do anything thorough him. So I would ask for your prayers as I explore what exactly that looks like. God Bless.

Day 1 at CLBI

OK I am super exhausted right now even though it is only 8:30 so I am going to try and keep this short. I arrived at school and have started to settle in. I make a mistake on my application and wrote that I wanted a single room which is not what I wanted so for the time being I have no roommate but who knows what will happen. Two weeks to go

Hey So I know it has been like a month again since I last wrote but I have been very busy and don't have internet at home so that makes it really hard. So on the 27th or maybe it's the 28th I will make the drive up to Camrose with my parents and start my second year at CLBI. It has been three and a half years since I have been there. So yeah I am pretty excited about that. So Busy

Hey Everyone I know it has been forever since I posted. I don't have the internet at home anymore so that makes it hard to post. I have been really busy. Right now I am in Mission preparing for Natasha's wedding on Saturday. I will be a bridesmaid in it. Last week I was in Vegas for four days thirteen of us girls went and celebrated the upcoming wedding. All I will say about Vegas is that it is a interesting place. Once I learn how to post photos and I will get some on here look forward to hearing from you guys.

I hate cleaning

So when I am cleaning my room, if I only have like an hour or two because I have plans then I can get it done no prob. But if I have a whole free day to do it then I will take that long to do it. Why is that?? I should be starting to clean right now cause I need to move my room to the basement. The room down there isn't as nice but at least it is alot cooler. Anyone want to help me move stuff??

Going and Going

I feel like I just keep going and going. I think if I was to stop then I would get sick because right now my body is running in fast forward. I can't see an end anytime in the near future. Maybe in late May or June I will take sometime away. If anyone knows of some nice cheap close place that I could just chill and relax at then let me know. Maybe someone's farm or something. I am not sure where this week has gone it has seemed so crazy maybe that is due to me taking the bus to work. My friend from my old work place came back from Ethiopia today she had gone home and visited family and had been gone for like six months. So it was really nice to see her I was pretty excited. Anyways I know that I owe most of you e-mail and I will try and let to do that sometime soon but for now the blog will have to do.

Sally isn't doing so well.

As some of you may know I refer to my car as Sally. While my little red Nissan Sentra XE had some problems over the weekend. I had gone up to Camrose for CLBI grad and it was being a little odd but not to bad. So then I started to drive home last night and it was making a funny noise so I pulled over and it stalled on me while I was going 80kms a hour. Then I thought maybe it was the oil. But it wasn't then I couldn't get it to start again. So I called the Lewis's and Rob came and he got it started and by this point I had already called Amy S and had her book me a flight back on the same flight as her. Then I drove the car back to Camrose and parked it at Canadian Tire. Then Rob took them the key for me this morning. They called and said that it would be about 4hours of labor and they "think" it's the timing belt. Then they told me that it could be the head and that would be like 10 hours of work and I would be looking at $1500.00 work, I was like I don't think so I only paid $1100.00 for the car. So I decided to not get the work done. Rob went and parked it for me at CLBI I will go up there as soon as I can and attempt to drive it down and then will have my mechanic look at it. If there is major work to be done then I will just have to get rid of her. Did I mention that earlier in the day I had gone to the dollar store and I realized that I didn't have my cell with me and I was like shoot I must of dropped it. When I got back to the school I found it and someone had driven over it and the front display screen was cracked. But don't get me wrong I don't want you guys to think I had a horrible time because that wasn't the case I really had a good time.

So I am going to have such a busy busy summer. As most people know I am going to be in Natasha's wedding in July, which means I will be home for two weeks for that and the trip to Vegas. Now I am also going to be in a wedding at the end of August. My roomate and Friend Arienne is getting married. So that means I will be a bridesmaid twice this summer. Today after work I went and got measured for my dress. Were getting all matching colors and fabric and skirts but different style tops. So this will be lots of fun. I am so so excited. It was very exciting to see Arienne is her dress. I can't wait for the weddings.

Crazy Flying

OK so as some of you know I flew home for Easter. I know some of you are thinking I was in Mission and you never saw me, I am sorry for that. I had little time and instead of running around like crazy trying to visit everyone. I just didn't visit anyone. So Because I waited so long to book my flight it got really expensive so my roommate who works for westjet gave me buddy passes. That way I could pay alot less and fly stand by. So I decided I would try and get home on the 10:25 flight on Thurs night even though I knew it was going to be very full. So I went to the airport and I got there early and waited because as stand by you can only check in three hours early. So I checked in right at 7:25 but I am told there are three seats open and I am third on the list and there is one more person who wants to be on this flight and I am thinking great because if it's a staff person I will get bumped. So I got my stand by boarding pass and went and ate and worked on my comp. At 9:45 they paged me and told me that they had no seat for me but I can wait until the very end if I want so I was like ok. So at about 10:08 they finish boarding the plane. The westjet girls tell me that there is one more person left to check in and if he doesn't by 10:15 I get his spot so I was sitting there hoping he doesn't show up. At 10:12 he checked in. Then the guy gets to the gate and it's clear that he's been drinking and the one westjet guy is questioning him and I am thinking don't let him on. I know how nice of me but I really wanted on the plane. But they let him on but I have still one hope a guy making a connection from a Air Canada flight suppose to be arrivng at 10:15. At 10:24 they gave me his spot. So I got to Fly home YAH!! I felt like a dork getting on the plane because everyong else had been on it for 15mins and I am sure lots of them saw me at the gate before boarding so I am sure they were thinking what took this girl so long to get one. Anyways that's it for now.

Great Night

I had a great night last night. I went out with my former roommate. We went and had a bite to eat. Then went to the movies. We were planning on seeing Failure to Launch but she didn't really want to see it she mentioned seeing she's the man. So because of the kind person I am I said lets so see she's the man. If you want a fun light movie that will make you laugh then it is a good one to see. Of course it was some what predictable, but still it was good. I don't know if I have laughed out loud that much at a movie in a long time. It is a modern remake of Shakespeares Twelfth Night. After the movie Jenny and I were in the car listening to the local Christian radio station. They were talking about the last song for the contest that they had and how it was so hard that no one got it. Then they were like this one should be easier so they read the lyrics and said caller 8 at this number will win. So I whiped out my cell phone and dialed and while it is ringing Jenny and I were trying to figure out who sang it but she didnt know but I had a good idea. Then finally he was like hi Shine FM do you know the artist of the song and I was like Casting Crowns and he was like yes and I was like are you serious. Then he asked me the name of the song which Jenny knew so I told him. So we won two tickets to the lacrosse team here in Calgary and two ice creams from this expensive marble slab place. We were pretty excited about it. So that ended up being a nice finishing touch to the end of the evening. It was also a nice way to finish a busy week.

work sucked

Why is it when we stay up to late one time we end up having the most busy stressful day the next day at work?? Work was not very much fun today. It didn't really help that I didn't have very much sleep and I tend to be a little cranky and standoffish when I haven't slept enough. I am sure most of you have experienced me when I am like that. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.

Joined the Elite

So after trying to convince my parents or my sister to remove someone from there Costco membership and add me with no luck. (Side Note: My sister has her bf on her card and my dad has my mum on his card the thing is there all going to be living in Creston. Creston has NO costco. So most likely when they go to Costco it will be when there here in Calgary visiting me. So it would make sense to have me on one of there cards) Ok enough of my complaining. So I went to Costco today and signed up. I am now a member and I realized how easy it is to spend a lot of money there. I spent $75 and only got like seven items. The main reason that I wanted the card was so I could buy socks and Diet Pepsi. :) I know what your thinking but the membership cost is very good and I figure after a few visits it will have paid for itself. So if you don't currently have a costco membership I think you should consider getting one.
